My family and I moved to Tacoma in the summer of 2020, in the middle of the pandemic. This herbal apprenticeship has been essential in my finding community and nurturing a sense of place in my new home. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but in my three seasons so far I have learned so much about being in relationship with plants and the land we live on. Perhaps even more vital is the journey of integrating herbal healing into my broader work as a midwife. And then there's the incredible community we've created over the seasons together--learning, laughing, crying, eating amazing food, and creating beautiful herbal remedies together.
